I am truly honored and quite fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the Principal of McElwain Elementary School. Each child and family member I meet reaffirms my excitement for the work to be done at McElwain.
I began my career in education 18 years ago in Milwaukee, WI. I taught at a K-8 bilingual school for 7 years and then moved to Colorado teaching for another 5 years in the Fraser Valley. Missing my work in an urban setting, I moved down to the front-range and worked as a Peer Observer evaluating teachers for the Denver Public Schools. This work led me to the Ritchie Program for School Leaders and an Assistant Principal position. All of these different and challenging roles prepared me for the jump to becoming the leader here at McElwain.
I know that through strong family and school partnerships as well as a clear vision for blending our Primary Years Program with rigorous instructional practices McElwain will grow and excel.
Please know my door is open to all of you and I look forward to an amazing school year!
