This is my first year teaching at McElwain Elementary School and my sixth year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten through second grade and now fifth grade. I grew up in Commerce City, graduating from Adams City High School. I went on to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I earned a BA in Psychology. I always dreamed of working with children, and eventually I realized that teaching was the key. So I began teaching for a charter school, and returned to school to earn my teaching license.
I have always had a passion for learning, in which teaching is a profession that continually embraces that. I am a believer that not only do my students learn from me, but I too learn from them. I know that my fifth graders have taught me a lot so far this year. McElwain truly is a special school that I am proud to be a part of.
