After teaching environmental education at a wildflower garden, tutoring middle school mathematics, and teaching English in Japan, my journey has finally led me to McElwain! I am so happy to be here for my first year of teaching ELD. I am from Minnesota, but I have lived in Japan and Hawaii too. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from Macalester College and my Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Saint Cloud State University. I moved to Thornton this year with my spouse, a learning specialist at Coronado Hills Elementary, my 2 year old daughter, Esme, and my dog, Sophie.
