ONE BOOK ONE MCELWAIN!

We are excited to announce the launch of our Community Read...One Book One McElwain!

We will kick off this event on March 2nd, which is National Read Across America Day. This event is intended for participation from students, families and staff.

Check out the One Book One McElwain website for all the information you need!

  • K-1 will get a classroom book and 2-5 will receive a chapter book 

  • Teachers will record reading a chapter of the book   

  • We will create some incentives for reading including drawings and games

  • Students will be able to choose from a variety of projects that can submit for a culminating event.  Project Categories that students can choose from are as follow:

    • Performance Arts: Movement, Dance Theatre

    • Language Arts: Narrative, Informational or Opinion Writing Speeches, Poetry

    • Audio/Visual Arts: Painting, Drawings, Sculptures, Songs or Recordings 

  • On March 31st, we will have a covid safe outdoor display of these projects, or if weather does not permit, it will be virtual.
