McElwain is a unique school in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. We serve the children and community that is diverse and make a commitment to student achievement by working toward a goal of providing equal access and equal outcomes to the curriculum and standards by providing instruction to differentiate for the needs of every student.   • Offer small class sizes in grades k-1;
  • Provide a research based transitional language services plan for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade;
  • Provide common planning time so teachers can collaborate to improve instruction;
  • Integrate higher order thinking into all our academic instruction;
  • Create cooperative learning opportunities in order to increase student engagement;

  • Provide support for our parents and community by having a bilingual community outreach clerk on staff
